Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Infrastructure Technician on a pivotal data center project located in Issaquah, WA. This role involves critical tasks such as server decommissioning, cable management, and contributing to a DIM consolidation project. You'll also have the opportunity to engage in training sessions and perform some onsite duties in Wenatchee, WA.
Core Responsibilities:
Server Decommissioning:
- Conduct the shutdown and removal of outdated servers following precise protocols.
- Manage the eco-friendly disposal or repurposing of old server components, adhering to environmental standards.
Cable Management:
- Design and execute cable layout plans for enhanced efficiency and system organization.
- Accurately label and manage cables for streamlined future maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Install and configure patch panels to support network infrastructure, ensuring robust connectivity.
- Perform thorough cable tracing to detect and rectify any network issues.
DIM Consolidation Project:
- Play a supportive role in the DIM consolidation initiative, handling memory chips within servers as per guidelines.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the project's objectives and timelines are met.
Training & Team Collaboration:
- Engage in an intensive two-week training in Wenatchee, WA, to align with the project's standards and methodologies.
- Work closely with project managers and peers to align on tasks and achieve project benchmarks.
- Maintain open and effective communication with all stakeholders, updating them on progress and addressing any project-related queries.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in data center maintenance, specifically in server decommissioning and cable management.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and adeptness in cable organization.
- Ability to adhere to complex instructions, working autonomously or within a team framework.
- Keen attention to detail with a commitment to fostering a safe, orderly work environment.
- Willingness to travel to Wenatchee for training and occasional site work, with expenses covered.
- Exceptional communication capabilities and professionalism in stakeholder interactions.
