Job Description
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Healthcare Facilities Manager to oversee energy management and operational maintenance at a designated campus. This role requires an in-depth focus on optimizing energy usage and enhancing the efficiency of the Central Energy Plant (CEP). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with both internal teams and the client’s staff, providing expertise and mentorship to ensure best practices in operations and energy management across multiple facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily reviews of energy consumption, advising on and implementing best practices and operational adjustments.
- Mentor client management on effective energy strategies and maintenance practices.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Central Energy Plant, including management of subcontractors and internal teams.
- Ensure efficient plant operation, working closely with operators and conducting regular training sessions.
- Develop and maintain critical operational documentation such as the Plant Operating Manual.
- Collaborate with the Bernhard EPC team to align engineering, procurement, and construction activities with ongoing plant operations.
- Manage Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP and coordinate troubleshooting and diagnostics with remote support services.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in facilities management across multiple sites, central plant operations, or mechanical construction with a focus on healthcare environments.
- Recent mechanical technical experience within a hospital setting (minimum 200 beds).
- Experience in a JACHO accredited facility with a successful track record in audits and surveys.
- Strong understanding of building codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET Accredited Program) preferred. PE or FE certification is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 15% travel to various job sites and office locations.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to work both in an office setting and on-site, which may include navigating stairs, ladders, and confined spaces.
- Ability to perform medium work, occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of working in diverse environmental conditions, from quiet to noisy environments.
