Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a highly skilled Workday Implementation Program Lead for a 15-month contract assignment in Southlake, TX. This role will oversee the full lifecycle of a large-scale Workday HCM implementation, driving project leadership, testing, and change management from planning through go-live.
The ideal candidate has led multiple Workday HCM implementations—with strong expertise in Core HCM and Payroll (required)—and experience migrating from another system (Paycom experience is a plus). This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep knowledge of testing, change management, and stakeholder engagement in complex healthcare or specialty service environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end Workday HCM implementation across multiple modules.

Own program leadership across workstreams; coordinate with stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT, and Operations.

Oversee test planning and execution (scenario design, scripts, SIT, UAT, defect triage, readiness).

Develop and manage cutover and hypercare plans in partnership with HRIS/Payroll/Benefits leads.

Drive change management initiatives including communication planning, training, and adoption metrics.

Define and maintain the project roadmap, milestones, risks, and dependencies.

Oversee data conversion and system integrations to ensure accuracy and functionality.

Monitor project health and provide regular updates to executive sponsors.
Must-Have Qualifications

8+ years of HR/ERP technology leadership experience.

5+ full-cycle Workday HCM implementations in a program leadership capacity.

Expertise in Workday HCM Core and Payroll (required).

Strong test management, defect management, and change management experience.

Experience migrating from legacy HR/Payroll systems to Workday (Paycom-to-Workday a strong plus).

Proven success leading projects in healthcare or complex enterprise environments.

Ability to operate in a lean, hands-on execution environment.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Workday certifications strongly preferred (required for top pay band).
Preferred Experience

Scheduling and Timekeeping module exposure.

Benefits, Recruiting, and Onboarding module knowledge.

Oversight of payroll/timekeeping integrations.

Familiarity with large enterprise acquisition or multi-entity environments.
