Summary
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Mental Health Counselor for a full-time opportunity in Natick, MA and/or Worcester, MA. In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Charge Nurse to provide psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and/or child patients. You will plan and implement milieu treatment, ensuring safe and high-quality care in alignment with each patient’s needs and therapeutic goals.
Responsibilities

Serve as milieu therapist for assigned patients, collaborating with the nurse therapist to develop treatment approaches.

Conduct initial psychological assessments and provide consistent individual counseling focused on treatment goals.

Participate in individual and group milieu therapy sessions.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, diagnose, and treat patients.

Monitor and adjust the therapeutic environment to meet patient needs.

Apply crisis intervention techniques when necessary.

Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, eating, and recreational engagement.

Document patient status, interactions, and communications in medical records.

Provide education and support to family members and coordinate with outside agencies as needed.

Participate in discharge planning and referrals.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field required

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

BLS certification required.

Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
