Job Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Director of Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) with a strong background in resolving distressed accounts receivable, ideally with experience as a paralegal or within a trial law firm. This critical role focuses on overseeing and enhancing the IDR process within our Revenue Cycle Department. The Director will lead the team responsible for handling complex disputes and negotiations, ensuring that all processes are aligned with strategic business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Leadership in IDR: Direct and manage the IDR process, including the resolution of distressed accounts receivable. Develop strategies to effectively navigate and resolve disputes between parties, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Team Management: Lead a team of IDR enforcement specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to best practices in dispute resolution.
- Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve IDR processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and better outcomes in dispute resolution.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the status of disputes, outcomes, and areas requiring additional resources or attention.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with laws and regulations related to IDR and revenue cycle management, ensuring that all activities are compliant and that the team is informed of any changes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including legal and finance, to ensure a holistic approach to dispute resolution and revenue cycle management.
Education and Experience
- IDR Expertise: Extensive experience in Independent Dispute Resolution, particularly in the healthcare or legal sectors, with a focus on distressed accounts receivable.
- Legal Background: 2-3 years of experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role within a trial law firm, with substantial involvement in dispute resolution.
- Management Experience: 8+ years of management experience, preferably overseeing teams in IDR or revenue cycle operations.
- Educational Background: Associate's degree in business, law, or a related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred (equivalent experience considered).
Skills and Qualifications
- Dispute Resolution Skills: Proven ability to lead complex negotiations and resolve disputes efficiently, with a deep understanding of the IDR process.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA and other privacy standards, that impact dispute resolution and revenue cycles.
- Communication & Leadership: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and lead a team towards achieving strategic goals.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office applications and proficiency with CRM systems, particularly in tracking and managing dispute resolution processes.
