The Business Banking Account Specialist will support the business banking operations by opening and managing business member accounts, providing exceptional service, and ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations. This role is crucial to maintaining the continuity of services during a key employee's absence and could lead to a permanent position depending on circumstances.
Job Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Lead efforts to open and manage business member accounts, ensuring the highest standards of service and accuracy.
- Goal Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed financial, production, and relationship goals related to account openings and member engagement.
- Member Engagement: Engage with potential members to identify opportunities for new accounts and additional banking services. Listen closely to understand their needs and swiftly provide appropriate solutions.
- Treasury Account Management: Establish and manage Treasury accounts to support ACH, Wires, Positive Pay, and other essential services.
- Documentation: Handle all necessary documentation for opening new member accounts, including memberships, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Vendor Collaboration: Work collaboratively with third-party vendors to facilitate seamless account setup and management processes.
- New Member Acquisition: Drive new member acquisition by actively participating in school, community, and business events. Build strong relationships to attract and retain business members.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements in department and client operations to streamline account opening and management processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to all client policies, service standards, procedural guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Audit Support: Support audit and examiner requests efficiently, ensuring all documentation is in order and accessible.
- Portfolio Oversight: Oversee the existing commercial portfolio, tracking loan statuses and ensuring timely monitoring of delinquency, covenants, and other key indicators.
- Reporting: Regularly produce reports on the Member Business Portfolio for management review.
- Financial Analysis: Gather and analyze financial data for annual reviews of commercial credit files, maintaining up-to-date logs and communication with borrowers.
- Due Diligence: Ensure all due diligence, collateral security, and legal documentation are completed accurately.
- Loan Processing Support: Respond to inquiries related to loan processing and servicing, providing clear and timely information.
- Special Projects: Undertake special projects as assigned, with the flexibility to accommodate activities outside standard business hours.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in online business banking, with a focus on opening member accounts.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Additional Training: Training in business development within a consultative sales environment, particularly in credit unions or banking, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Deep knowledge of credit union operations and a thorough understanding of business and media processes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Project Management: Strong project management abilities.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with related computer applications.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed about trends in finance, business, and public relations to enhance service delivery.
- Professionalism: Uphold a high level of professionalism, judgment, ethics, and confidentiality in all interactions.
